Chores

Aug 20th: We left Homer Spit as early as we could...meaning I kept hitting the snooze button, haha! We arrived in Anchorage and settled in our campsite at Golden Nugget RV Park around 2pm or so.  The sites were very, very small. Sean was barely able to fit the motorhome in this one, and the neighbor had to park his truck right next to our slide. We felt bad, so we put it in to give them more room.

We immediately started the laundry because it honestly started to become mountainous, so before we were buried alive we figured it would be a good idea. When all the chores, eating, and napping were complete, we headed off to explore a little bit of Anchorage that Sean found appealing the previous week.

First, we were off to Earthquake Park, where Sean had mentioned to me there were giant mushrooms that you would only see in story books. And, he was certainly right. These mushrooms were probably near 1 foot tall and some about 10 inches wide on the tops. I am not sure the name of these mushrooms, but they are very cool.

Next stop was to the airport to see if there was any action. Turns out there was some action, but it was maintenance of the airstrip. This means all the planes would not be taking off for a long while. So, we decided to go see the seaplanes. We saw one seaplane land.

We soon gave up on seeing anyone else take off or land. We thought maybe the foggy, rainy weather were keeping people grounded. Then, we stopped by Fred Meyer once more to restock our supplies, and then back home to eat and rest.
