San Juan Mountain Jeep Trails

While staying in Ouray, we had the opportunity to ride on several Jeep trails in the area.

The most memorable was Imogene Pass, which we went on with one other Jeep, a Nissan Pathfinder, and a Honda Ridgeline (that needed some help to make it all the way to the top).

We also went on Black Bear Pass, Mineral Creek Road, and the road to Animas Forks Ghost Town. It was our first time on Black Bear Pass, and while it was a bit difficult, we really did not think it was too hard. Mineral Creek Road seemed to be much more challenging.

For reference, we drive a stock Jeep Wrangler Sport, with the only modification being all terrain tires.

Mineral Creek Road, off of the Engineer Pass trail, was a trail that we had accidentally turned onto and had no idea we were driving through it. It was probably that roughest trail we had been on up to that point. We had intended on taking it easy, with our destination to be Animas Forks, but apparently we had taken a "wrong turn in Albuquerque." Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take any pictures during that trail due to the bone-shaking roughness of the road, but I do have a few pictures of Animas Forks Ghost Town.
